Let Me Provide the Pillow

First of all, telling someone to not be sad, when they are sad, is not really being sympathetic to the situation. However, not allowing someone to sleep when they are tired is worse, haha.

I just learned today that the main character that is the girl in the Peanuts comics for a few years is named Patty. And that the boy that is the main character for the first few years is Shermy.

Don't you ever think you are being sympathetic to someone's plight when in actuality you are being pretty burdensome? Your ego is getting in the way and you feel that you are right in how you are treating someone. Only to be humbled a few seconds later by what is actually needed by your frienSd.

Dear Sir, dear Life,

Please help me be truly empathetic towards my friend's circumstances. If my friend needs me to mourn with him, let me be a good mourner; if my friend needs someone to play with, help me provide the ball; if my friend needs to take the nap, let me provide the pillow. In all cases, help me to be understanding of what my friend needs.
