The Warmth of Mittens and People
10.24.1950
Charlie Brown has a point. There are things in this life that brings warmth to you other than the sun. Especially if you are talking about emotional warmth that is felt in families that are not dysfunctional, or the romantic warmth that is felt in when you are in a relationship with someone that you love. I think later comic strips show this type of attachment warmth that Linus has with his blanket, maybe a little too much. But, what are some things that I have an emotional attachment to? Or what things bring me warmth?
Well, when I see a mom with her baby, or a brother with a sister, taking care of them with every ounce of love they have; that makes me warm inside. The fact that I took my sister to the Provo Missionary Training Center, hung out with her that day, and enjoyed my time with her; it was all very warm for me. I just love my siblings so much and I wouldn't be who I am without my relationship with my siblings. I have a warmth that is different for each individual sibling.
Dear Sir, dear Life,
You're my best friend, Peppermint Patty! The warmth that I feel from you is palpable, even if sometimes you can be rough around the edges. I will continue to take care of you. Please continue to take care of me, my friend.
your best friend,
The Marcie in me
